About The Collaboration
"SWAN LAKE - revisited" is a project where both the countries India and France are united together in a cultural exchange of classical and contemporary movement arts. The collaboration is unique in its way as first time in India and may be in the world SWAN LAKE is happening with the blend of Classical Kathak, Classical Jazz Dance and Western Contemporary dance. The production is choreographed by Legendary Mr. Gianin Loringett, Father of Classical Jazz Dance (France), Dr. Mitul Sengupta (India), and Ronnie Shambik Ghose , Graduate Hong Kong Academy For Performing Arts, (Hong Kong, India). This collaboration we hope will open many possibilities of different important collaborations with India and other countries in the world, where exchanges of different thought processes can be practiced and implemented, in the field of performing arts. The production is commissioned by INDIAN COUNCIL FOR CULTURAL RELATIONS, Ministry of External Affairs Govt. of India and also supported by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Alliance Francaise Du Bengale.
SWAN LAKE Revisited straddles two time zones, the endeavour being to strike a subtle balance between the lives and emotions of the epic Swan Lake and today?s Swan Lake. It celebrates the many hues of life through love, passion, virtue and vices which are an ever constant part of our world.The Performers are Dr. Mitul Sengupta, eminent kathak dancer, Ronnie Shambik Ghose, Mr. Yorma Loringett, eminent tap jazz dancer from France, along with Rhythmosaic Dance Company. Script and Narration ? Ms. Oindrilla Dutt. The music is composed by Dishari, Costume Design- Gitanjali Jolly.
